Sliders on Sweet Potato Bun

This is by far one of my favorite recipes. Using a sweet potato as a bun gives the burger so much flavor! It’s a bit messy, but soooo good!


  • Sweet potato – Try to grab one with a large diameter
  • Ground meat of choice – I used pork
  • 1 Bacon Slice – optional – cut into small bits(uncooked)
  • 1 tablespoon fat/oil of choice
  • Recommended optional toppings
    • Paleo mayo – I Used Primal Kitchen’s Paleo Mayo from Natural Grocers
    • Sautéed onions and mushrooms
    • Avocado slices
    • Cheese of choice – If you’re doing a primal diet or DGAF
  • Recommended seasoning
    • Salt
    • Pepper
    • Cayenne pepper
    • Dried, ground oregano


  1. Cut sweet potato into thin slices
  2. In a frying pan, add fat/oil
  3. Over medium heat, cook sweet potato slices until soft, flipping occasionally
  4. While sweet potato slices are cooking, prepare the burger patties
    1. Add seasonings of choice to ground meat
    2. Add optional bacon bits to meat
    3. Press burger mixture into small patties – these have to fit onto the sweet potato buns
  5. Over medium-high heat, cook burger patties to done-level of choice, flipping as needed
  6. After burger patties are done, place them between the sweet potato buns
  7. Add toppings of choice
  8. Enjoy!
